Following Zinedine Zidane’s shock departure, Real Madrid was linked with a number of managers around Europe, including Mauricio Pochettino, Antonio Conte, and Raul. However, a little over a day ago, speculations surfaced that Ancelotti was considering a surprise return to Real Madrid.
The agreement has moved forward in the last few hours, with the Italian expected to go to Madrid soon. Although Zidane’s departure was untimely, Los Blancos have appointed Ancelotti, a seasoned campaigner who knows what it’s like to coach Real Madrid.
Real Madrid turn to Ancelotti’s experience to rejuvenate the squad
Between 2013 and 2015, the 61-year-old spent two seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu, winning three major championships, including the UEFA Champions League in 2014. Ancelotti was well-liked by the players and is said to have a good working relationship with Perez, who was chastised for his handling of Zidane.

In a brutally honest interview with Spanish daily AS through Daily Mail, the Frenchman implied that the Real Madrid president did not trust him sufficiently and accused him of lacking respect.
Perez, on the other hand, will be hoping for a stronger working relationship with Ancelotti as he prepares to succeed Zidane and usher in a new era at the club. The Italian stated that now is the appropriate time for him and his family to return to Real Madrid after reaching an agreement with Los Blancos.
Ancelotti faces a slew of issues at Real Madrid, and he’ll have his job cut out for him if he wants to make the La Liga giants a force to be reckoned with once more.
