Andre Onana Breaks Silence On Manchester United Transfer. In a long-awaited statement, André Onana has finally put an end to the swirling rumours regarding his potential move to Manchester United. The talented goalkeeper took to social media to break his silence on the matter.
Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana has confirmed that he will join Premier League club Manchester United. The 27-year-old Cameroonian is scheduled to have a medical in England on Wednesday. If all goes well, United intend to finalize a deal before their pre-season tour of the United States.
“Playing in the Premier League and for a club like United is irresistible,” Onana told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “All parties wanted this to happen. But what matters is that, even if I had stayed [at Inter Milan], I would have been equally happy. I never had any problems at Inter.”
He added: “Thank you is the word I want to use. I say it to all the workers of Pinetina and of the company, to the managers, to the president, to the coach, to the comrades. But above all to the fans.”
Onana will take over as Manchester United’s new No. 1 goalkeeper after the departure of David de Gea. He’s set to sign a five-year contract. Erik ten Hag, his former Ajax coach and current United coach, will be reunited with him.
