Arsenal Respond To Mancity With An Emphatic Victory Over Leeds United. Arsenal defeated Leeds United 4-1 in the Premier League on Saturday. After returning from the international break, the Gunners made a strong start to the final part of their league campaign. The Gunner’s win came against a backdrop of Mancity’s 4-1 win over Liverpool in the early kick-off game.
As the Premier League title race looks like it will go down the wire, Arsenal have to respond to Mancity’s early kick-off win as they face Leeds United later on the day at the Emirates. The hosts quickly took control of the game, pressing for an early breakthrough. They had to wait until the 35th minute to score their first goal.
Gabriel Jesus, who started for Arsenal in place of Bukao Saka, converted a penalty to give the team a 1-0 lead. Leeds was quick to respond, instantly applying pressure to the defence of Arsenal to score the equalizer.
Near the end of the first period, Javi Garcia’s team had two excellent chances to level the score. Then, shortly after the interval, Arsenal punished them. In the 47th minute, Ben White scored after Gabriel Martinelli made an excellent cutback, giving the hosts a 2-0 lead. The Gunners then capitalized on their confidence to clinch the win.

Jesus finished off his brace just eight minutes after White’s goal, extending Arsenal’s lead. After the score, the game’s pace considerably slowed down as Leeds was unable to generate quality chances. Rasmus Kristensen’s goal in the 76th minute gave the visitors some hope. Only eight minutes later, Granit Xhaka put the cherry on top for the Gunners.
The Gunners won 4-1 thanks to a precise header from the Swiss midfielder. Arsenal holds an eight-point lead in the Premier League heading into their match against Liverpool at Anfield.
