Arteta Dismisses Worries Concerning Saka And Saliba Contracts. Mikel Arteta has dismissed concerns about the futures of Bukayo Saka and William Saliba at Arsenal. Gabriel Martinelli and the Gunners have come to an agreement to sign a new, long-term contract. Arsenal inked one-year extensions with Saka and Saliba while in talks with the Brazil international.
Although the two Arsenal stars won’t be available as free agents in the coming summer, their brief deal will undoubtedly spark interest from rival teams. Both players and the Gunners have allegedly begun contract negotiations but have not yet reached an agreement.
When asked if he thought the two stars will sign extended contracts with the Gunners Arteta responded on Friday. “Yeah, they will do. In the same way we dealt with Gabi, we’ll deal with the rest.
“Things need time sometimes but we are delighted with the news of Gabi obviously.” Gabriel and Saliba have developed a strong defensive combination this year. The Brazilian star has earned a starting spot in Arsenal’s defensive lineup, and Arteta praised his rapid growth at Etihad.

“Not only his performances, but I think the way he’s evolving,” the Spanish boss added. “I think he’s getting better in every phase of play and everything that we demand him to do. His leadership in the team, his mentality as well.
“I think he’s come a long way since he joined the club.”
