Barcelona Preparing A Loan Deal For Arsenal Superstar – Reports. Barcelona are allegedly seeking to sign Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on a loan deal. According to the Daily Mail (via Metro), the Catalans are keeping an eye on Aubameyang’s status at the Emirates. They will, however, have to negotiate the Gabonese international’s wages with Arsenal. Aubameyang presently makes roughly £350,000 per week, which Barcelona cannot afford considering their financial state.
Xavi Hernandez’s team is in serious need of a striker. For Barcelona, Memphis Depay, Martin Braithwaite, and Ansu Fati are all now injured. Sergio Aguero has also confirmed his retirement from professional football, leaving the Blaugrana severely lacking in attack. As a result, Barcelona is rumored to be interested in signing a striker in January. Edinson Cavani of Manchester United has been widely linked with a transfer to the Nou Camp. The Red Devils, on the other hand, may see him as a solid squad option, although his injury troubles remain a concern.

If a bid for Cavani fails to materialize, Barcelona might pursue Aubameyang instead. It’s worth mentioning, though, that the 32-year-old loves to play on the wing but Aubemeyang has been sub-par playing as a striker for Arsenal over the previous two seasons.
Aubameyang could leave Arsenal due to fallout with Mikel Arteta
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has recently made headlines for all the wrong reasons. Due to a disciplinary issue, the Arsenal attacker was initially left out of the Gunners’ squad for their encounter against Southampton. Aubameyang was subsequently stripped of his captaincy by Arsenal and did not even make the bench for the club’s victories over West Ham and Leeds United.
Mikel Arteta hasn’t spoken anything about the issue or the forward’s future, and Aubameyang hasn’t made any public statements either. Arteta’s public remarks, paired with the Gabonese international’s dismal run of form, have fueled a slew of speculations in recent weeks. Aubameyang has only scored seven goals in 15 appearances this season and has been guilty of squandering several huge chances in recent weeks. Last season, the Arsenal striker struggled for form as well, scoring only 15 goals in 39 games.
