Brighton Beat Hapless Manchester United As Red Devils Sink A New Low. Manchester United’s season reached a new low when they were defeated 4-0 by Brighton at the Amex Stadium in Ralf Rangnick’s final game in command. Brighton, on the other hand, was fantastic and fully deserved the sweeping victory. Moises Caicedo scored after 15 minutes with a low effort past David De Gea from 25 yards out.

Graham Potter appeared to have urged his team during the interval to go for the throat, and they did exactly that, increasing the advantage in the 49th minute when Leandro Trossard pulled back for Marc Cucurella to fire into the roof of the net.

Cucurella hauled down a superb long pass from goalkeeper Robert Sanchez and found Trossard in the area eight minutes later, the pick of the bunch. He sent the ball to Pascal Gross, who gently stroked it past the falling Raphael Varane with his right foot before slipping home with his left.

Surprisingly, just before the hour mark, the advantage was four when former Red Devil Danny Welbeck lofted a shot over De Gea and Diego Dalot’s goal-line clearance was diverted over the line by Trossard – whose effort merited a goal.
