Cedric Soares Vows To Make The Most Of Arsenal Opportunity. Despite not appearing in any of Arsenal’s games this season, Cedric Soares has been given a chance at the Emirates. Cedric Soares is determined to continue his Arsenal career after being named to the club’s Champions League squad.

Following a disappointing six-month loan at Fulham, Cedric’s future seemed dismal. The Portuguese player with German ancestry missed Arsenal’s preseason trip to the United States as well as their first five games of the new season.
But Cedric has taken Jurrien Timber’s position in Mikel Arteta‘s squad for the Champions League since the latter is out indefinitely with an injury. The right-back discussed his competitive mentality and willingness to contribute to the club no matter what in an interview with DAZN Portugal.
“Everyone wants to play and I also always really want to play, that’s what makes me competitive in football,” the 32-year-old said.
“It’s what gets me to train every day with that determination, but also to realize that we have to contribute, even if we’re not in the squad sometimes.
“That is the aspect I think I developed a lot at Arsenal. Sometimes you have to work for the group and not focus so much on yourself individually.”
Cedric joined Arsenal in January 2020 from Southampton. The full-back has made 59 appearances for Arsenal, scoring five goals and five assists.
