Owen Hargreaves, a former Manchester United player, believes Manchester City will win the UEFA Champions League final 2021 for the first time against Chelsea on Saturday. Manchester City will win a tight game 2-1 in Porto, according to Hargreaves.

Manchester City will finally win their first Champions League final trophy at the cost of Chelsea, according to the Englishman. Hargreaves remarked in an interview with JOE that:

“I think it feels like fate for City. It feels like their destiny. As good as Pep is and he hasn’t won one of these for a long time, he will want to mark this occasion.”

Manchester City is playing in their first Champions League final while Chelsea is making their third appearance in the competition. Manchester City will be attempting to become the 23rd different European Cup winner and the first since Chelsea in 2012.

Manchester City won’t fiddle against Chelsea: Owen Hargreaves

Manchester City has a good first XI and a squad that can compete with many other teams’ starting XIs. Pep Guardiola, on the other hand, is unlikely to make any changes to his tried-and-true team, according to Owen Hargreaves. Hargreaves commented on Manchester City’s starting lineup.

“I don’t think he’ll tinker with it this time around. With the defence he has and the goalkeeper I think you can pretty much guarantee who is going to play.”

Manchester City’s quality, according to Hargreaves, will be too much for Chelsea to handle. City will be expected to go on the front foot from the start, while Chelsea will be obliged to play on the counter-attack.

Hargreaves also predicted the outcome of the Champions League game, as well as the score and goal scorers. Hargreaves responded to these predictions when asked about them.

“I think City win 2-1. Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez score and I think Kai Havertz (for Chelsea) pops up with a beauty.”

Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel have a psychological advantage against Manchester City going into the final. Since becoming Chelsea manager, the German has won both of his meetings with Pep Guardiola.

Manchester City will be the favourites to capture the Champions League final trophy on Saturday evening, despite their poor record against Chelsea. Manchester City is chasing its third major trophy of the season, after winning the Premier League and the Carabao Cup.
