Cristiano Ronaldo Reveals His Retirement Plan In Candid Interview With Piers Morgan. Cristiano Ronaldo plans to retire from football at the age of 40, according to British broadcaster Piers Morgan.
Ronaldo announced his intention to contend in the Euro 2024 tournament in September. By the time the competition begins in June of that year, Portugal’s captain will be 39 years old. He has also previously stated that he could play professional football into his forties.

“He said he wants to retire around 40 to me,” Morgan told talkSPORT about Ronaldo.
“So he’s got two-and-a-half years to finish but most of all, he wants to be respected and valued and he doesn’t feel that under [Erik] ten Hag. That’s why he’s said what he’s said and he feels this manager doesn’t respect him.
"I'm motivated and ambitious. My path in the national team is not over. We have many quality youngsters. I will be at the World Cup and I want to be at the EURO, too."

“He [Ronaldo] said from the very start that he [Ten Hag] has tried to go out [of] his way to score points with Ronaldo and he thinks it’s very easy for managers to do that because he’s the biggest name and biggest star and he can often get the headlines to distract from real problems at the club.”
Ronaldo’s tell-all interview with Morgan will be aired in its entirety on Wednesday and Thursday.
