Raya might be on the move with less than a year left on his Brentford contract. Arsenal is interested in signing the goalie. The Gunners are said to have reached an agreement with the Brentford goalkeeper. They are currently in negotiations with Brentford, who are seeking roughly £40 million to seal the deal.
But, rather than joining Arsenal, Bent believes Raya should consider a move to Chelsea. He feels a transfer to Stamford Bridge is the best option for both the club and the player.
“David Raya is better than [current Chelsea No.1 goalkeeper] Kepa Arrizabalaga,” Bent said during a show on talkSPORT. “So why would Chelsea not go for him?”
Bent added: “Why would David Raya not think, ‘Hold on, why am I going to Arsenal to play behind Aaron Ramsdale? Why don’t I go to Chelsea and be their number one?’”
Bent, who played for Tottenham Hotspur and a die-hard Arsenal thinks a Raya-Arsenal deal is a no-brainer. In fact, he said that if he were Chelsea, he would be trying to get Raya on board.
