Emiliano Martinez Reveals Story Behind His Outrageous Act. Emiliano Martinez, the goalkeeper for the Argentine Football Team, revealed that he made an obscene gesture as the entire world’s attention was focused on him. However, he claimed there was a valid cause behind it.
During the FIFA World Cup presentation ceremony, Martinez said that certain French fans would not stop booing him. Martinez did the same gesture after earning the Golden Glove for Copa America 2021 in Brazil.
The flashy goalkeeper had been a nuisance for France the entire match. He could be seen enjoying each Argentinean goal and French miss, despite the fact that he saw the back of his net jiggle three times before emerging a hero in the penalty shootout.
Martinez said, “I did it because the French booed me.” He further went on to say, “Pride does not work with me.”

The Argentinian goalie also trolled French striker Kylian Mbappe during his dressing room celebrations. Martinez also mentioned how his ambition had come true and revealed how composed he had been throughout the penalty shootout.
He said: “All that I have dreamed of has been achieved. I have no words for it. I was calm during the penalty shoot-out, and everything went as we wanted.” Martinez also made a critical stop in the extra period to prevent France from winning the World Cup a second time.
