Former Barcelona Star Pedro Rodriguez Set To Return To Spain Following Lazio Stay. Pedro Rodriguez has lived in some of Europe’s most prestigious cities, including Stamford Bridge and the Stadio Olimpico, but he looks to be thinking about returning to his country.

Pedro subsequently elected to return to England, where he spent five years with Chelsea after being a part of Barcelona’s spectacular Wembley performance in the Champions League final in 2011. He joined Roma two summers ago but was judged surplus to needs by Jose Mourinho last July.

He relocated across town to Lazio and signed a two-year contract with Maurizio Sarri’s Biancoceleste. “I have one year left in my contract with Lazio, and I’ll decide what to do once it’s over. For now, I’ll stay here. I think I can still play football for one or two years,” he told Radio Marca, as referenced by Football Italia

“I leave everything open for the future even if there are a few personal aspects I must consider,” he admitted.

Pedro was clear that his family could play a large part in his next move. “I’d like to be closer to Barcelona to stay with my sons. Football has some negatives, it limits your personal life sometimes, you can miss out on many things because of football.”

Pedro is still a starter for Lazio, who are fighting for a Europa League position in Serie A, despite the fact that a return to Barcelona appears doubtful. Despite the fact that he will be 36 shortly after his contract expires, he could be an intriguing free agent option.
