Graeme Souness Dragged For Calling Football “a man’s game” With A Woman Pundit In Studio. Graeme Souness was chastised on Sunday evening after claiming that Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur was “a man’s game,” while Karen Carney sat alongside him in the studio.

Souness watched the afternoon’s encounter between the two London clubs in the Sky Sports studio as it was the inaugural “big six” meeting of the new Premier League season.

In the second half, things really flared up as Chelsea felt that two goals by Spurs, one an equalizer in stoppage time, should have been ruled offside.

Several fouls and a few altercations between the coaches—during which Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte were both dismissed at the end of the game—really fired up Souness.

The Scotsman was extremely eager to point out that all the concerns had been very manly following the game, saying, “it’s a man’s game,” and later “we’ve got our football back, men going at it.” Souness said this despite being seated next to Carney, who earned 144 England Women caps throughout the course of her career.
