Calum Chambers At Arsenal

Granit Xhaka has responded to Calum Chambers’ departure from the club to join Aston Villa. Chambers’ transfer to Villa Park was revealed yesterday by his new team. Many were taken aback since there had been no previous reports of Steven Gerrard’s team contemplating a bid for the English defender.

Chambers, who was poised to become a free agent this summer, turned to social media to reflect on his time with the Emirates. “7 years and a lifetime of memories later!! A special thanks to Arsene Wenger for making it possible and all the staff at London Colney. Last but not least to all the fans that have supported me, you’ve made this experience one to remember!”

Xhaka made the following remark on the 27-year-Instagram old’s post:“@calumchambers95 all the best brother.” He wrote.

Calum Chambers has only made five appearances for Arsenal this season, scoring one goal in the process. He’ll now want to receive more regular playing time at Aston Villa, who are currently thriving under Gerrard’s guidance.

Chambers joined the Gunners in the summer of 2014 from Southampton. In his first season, he appeared 36 times in all competitions, assisting Arsene Wenger’s club in winning the FA Cup.

Chambers’ playing time dropped dramatically during the 2015-16 season, with only 25 appearances. At the start of the next season, the versatile defender was loaned to Middlesbrough. Due to a foot ailment, he only played 24 Premier League games for Boro.

Chambers returned to Arsenal for the 2017-18 season, although due to a hip injury, he only made 24 appearances across all competitions. After that, he was loaned out to Fulham for the 2018-19 season, making 33 appearances before returning to the Emirates.

Chambers had a strong start to the 2019-20 season, but a torn cruciate ligament in December forced him to miss the balance of the year. The 27-year-recuperation old’s was longer than planned, and he was forced to miss a significant portion of the next season.
