Jadon Sancho Explains His Shinpad Celebration. Jadon Sancho explained the significance of his shinpad celebration after scoring his latest Manchester United goal.
The 22-year-old scored the first goal in the Red Devils’ 2-0 Europa League victory over Sheriff Tiraspol. Sancho, then gave the crowd a thumbs up while removing one of his shin guards. Sancho claimed the celebration was a dedication to one of his supporters in a post-game interview.

“A little kid gave me some shinpads and asked me to wear them,” Sancho said.
“I said ‘Yeah, no problem’ and that was a little gesture from me when I scored, showing him that I was wearing his shinpads that he gave me.”
Sancho scored his third goal of the season against the Moldovans. His improved form, however, has not persuaded Gareth Southgate to include him in the latest England squad.
“That [the World Cup] is one of the targets, but it is unfortunate that I didn’t get the call-up,” Sancho told MUTV.
“But I have to keep focusing on myself and keep working hard, week in and week out. So that is what I am going to do.”
