Fabinho was recruited by Liverpool from Monaco in the summer of 2018. Following a time of adjustment, the Brazil international established himself as one of the Premier League’s top defensive midfielders. He appeared in 219 games in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and assisting ten others.

After an illustrious five years with the Merseysiders, the 29-year-old completes a £40 million move to Al-Ittihad today, sealing a three-year contract. Fabinho shares an emotional farewell on Instagram, expressing gratitude to the Anfield faithful for their unwavering support throughout his journey.

Over the last five years, Fabinho and Henderson have been frequent starts in the Reds’ midfield under Jurgen Klopp. They won seven championships in 149 games together, including the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League.

This summer, Liverpool has already signed Alexis MacAllister and Dominik Szoboszlai. They will need to add a new defensive midfielder to their roster and are allegedly interested in signing Southampton prodigy Romeo Lavia.
