Jorginho Masterstroke As Chelsea Beat Strong-willed Aston Villa. Jorginho scored two penalties as Chelsea rallied from a goal behind to defeat Aston Villa and draw level with second-placed Liverpool on points.

Villa took a lucky lead in the 28th minute when Matt Targett’s looping cross from the left was met by Chelsea defender Reece James, whose flicked header redirected the ball past Edouard Mendy and into the net for an own goal.

Chelsea leveled six minutes later, with Jorginho scoring a penalty after Callum Hudson-Odoi was hauled down by Matty Cash’s reckless challenge in the 18-yard box.

Romelu Lukaku, who had missed three matches due to Covid-19, came in at the start of the second half and scored after 11 minutes, heading in from Hudson-Odoi’s cross.  Lukaku set up Chelsea’s third goal by winning an injury-time penalty, which Jorginho converted for his second goal of the game.

Chelsea’s first win in three Premier League matches moves them up to third place, one point behind Liverpool on goal differential and six points behind leaders Manchester City.
