Kalidou Koulibaly Explains Why He Thinks Chelsea Will Finish In The Top Four. Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly believes the Blues can still finish in the top four despite their recent dismal form.

Graham Potter‘s side is now ninth in the Premier League and has failed to find form and consistency. The Blues are seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester United as the push for the top four intensifies.

They have had one win in their past seven league games, the most recent being a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest on Sunday (January 1). The season has been challenging for Potter’s team, but Koulibaly remains optimistic about Chelsea‘s chances of finishing in the top four. According to the club’s website, the Senegalese defender said;

“It’s going to be a big challenge (to finish in the top four), but we like a challenge, and we always believe in ourselves.”

The Blues’ next game is against defending champions Manchester City on Thursday (January 5). After 16 games, City sits second in the table, seven points behind surprise leaders Arsenal. Koulibaly admits that beating Pep Guardiola’s team would be difficult, but the Stamford Bridge giants will do all in their power to win:

“We have to embrace it; we have to believe in ourselves and work hard to improve. We will get ready to face Man City, which will be a tough game, but we will do everything to win this match and move forward.”
