Karim Benzema Opens Up On His Match Fitness For The PSG Tie. Karim Benzema has discussed his level of fitness ahead of Real Madrid’s hotly-anticipated clash with Paris Saint-Germain. The two clubs will face off in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tussles tonight, and the Frenchman’s participation is still up in the air.
Due to muscular problems, Benzema was left out of Real Madrid’s squad that drew 0-0 with Villareal at the weekend. While everyone wants to see him play against PSG, the striker has stated that his involvement will be contingent on how he performs in today’s training session.
“There are many hours of work and I feel much better,” he told a press conference ahead of the vital clash. “Now we have a training session to see if I can play, but I have to have more sensations on the pitch.
“Being one hundred per cent, the most important thing is in the head, you have to recover and see sensations on the pitch and then we will decide for tomorrow’s game.”
Karim Benzema also stated that he was mentally prepared to face PSG, claiming that he had worked hard at home and on the training ground to prepare for the match. If he is able to make it onto the pitch at the Parc des Princes, the 34-year-old has also promised to give his all.
“It’s been a difficult time when you’re off the pitch,” he continued. “I’ve done work in Valdebebas and at home to get there.”

“In my head I’m ready but now I have to see on the pitch. It’s a great game and if I have to play tomorrow I will give everything.”
Aside from Karim Benzema, a bunch of other key players are likely to skip today’s titanic clash between the two European heavyweights.
Sergio Ramos will miss the match against his former club due to injury, according to the Parisians.
