Nunez & Salah Goals Secure Community Shield For Liverpool. Liverpool clinched the Community Shield on Saturday evening with a 3-1 victory over Manchester City, courtesy of late goals from Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez.
The victory occurred at Leicester’s King Power Stadium before the Sunday England vs. Germany Euro 2022 grand finals.

Trent Alexander-Arnold finished off a clever play midway through the first half for Liverpool, who rested new signing Nunez.
Erling Haaland started up top for City, but he was unhappy early on as his teammates fell behind, wasting a couple of good chances.

Nunez was brought in the second half and nearly scored on a one-on-one only for Ederson to make a brave stop with his face. Julian Alvarez, another debutant, came on in the second half and equalized in the 73rd minute after a VAR review.
A little more than 10 minutes later, Salah scored from the penalty spot after Ruben Dias touched Nunez’s header in the box.
Nunez gave Liverpool the victory in stoppage time with a diving header from close range, much to the delight of the home crowd.
In the dying moments, Haaland missed a wonderful opportunity to score by smashing a rebound from two yards out of the crossbar.
