Ronaldo’s Partner Georgina Rodriguez Slams Santos After World Cup Exit. Georgina Rodriguez, Cristiano Ronaldo’s partner, has condemned Portugal manager Fernando Santos for his tactical selections against Morocco. Ronaldo began on the bench for Portugal once more, as Santos decided to start Goncalo Ramos.
However, after Morocco took a 1-0 lead in the first half, the youthful player didn’t create enough opportunities to change the course of the game. At that point, Ronaldo was substituted in by Santos in the 50th minute, but Rodriguez feels that it was too late for his partner to have any influence.
“Today, your friend and coach decided wrong,” she wrote on Instagram. “That friend for whom you have so many words of admiration, and so much respect.
“The same friend who, putting you on the field, saw how everything changed, but it was too late.
“You can’t underestimate the best player in the world and the most powerful weapon you have, just as you can’t stand up for someone who doesn’t deserve it.”
Ronaldo wanted to win the World Cup to cap off his extraordinary career accomplishments. However, the loss to Morocco undoubtedly puts an end to his hopes of the title.
