Sadio Mane ‘intimidated’ Julian Nagelsmann During A Heated Dressing Room Brawl Before Bayern Munich Sacking. Former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann was reportedly terrified when Sadio Mane approached him over his lack of game time during the UEFA Champions League Round of the 16-second leg against Paris Saint-Germain.
The former Liverpool man was furious after playing only 13 minutes in the game. The dressing room looked on in shock as the drama unfolded, noting that the 35-year-old manager appeared to be intimidated by Mane
Just three weeks after the reported altercation in the locker room, Bayern Munich’s board of directors fired Nagelsmann. Nagelsmann was replaced on Saturday, March 25 by Thomas Tuchel, a former Chelsea manager. The board reportedly wasn’t thrilled with Nagelsmann’s game strategy and noted that the Bavarians had lost their toughness under him, particularly in the Bundesliga.
Mane, on the other hand, has had difficulty playing his best football in Germany. His season has not only been ruined by injuries, but he has also occasionally played out of position. Instead of letting Mane extend his legs down the wings, Nagelsmann frequently used Mane in the middle of the field.
This season, Mane has played 28 games for the German champions, scoring 11 goals and dishing out five assists. He will be hoping to play more often under Tuchel and assist his club to unseat Borussia Dortmund from the top spot in the Bundesliga.
