Thomas Partey Explains Reason For Arsenal Injury Problems. The Ghana international has experienced a litany of injury difficulties at Arsenal since his €50 million move from Atletico Madrid in 2019.
Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has claimed that his inability to adapt to Premier League play is to blame for his frequent injuries in north London. The 29-year-old made his first start since the 1-1 draw against Brentford on February 11 in Saturday’s 3-2 comeback win over Bournemouth, scoring the club’s first goal of the game.
Partey’s return to the starting lineup was welcomed because Jorginho was out. After joining Arsenal in 2019, he has missed 39 games due to injury. Conversely, with his last team, Atletico Madrid in Spain, he missed only seven games.
“Well, I think it’s adaption. If you go from a different league, normal things happen,” Partey suggested to football.london about his injury problems.
“I am working on everything, I am trying my best. I am trying to help the team any time I can. When I am ready and fit, I will be ready to help the team.” He added.

Despite his injuries, Partey remains an important member of Mikel Arteta’s team. This season, the midfielder has started 19 of their 26 Premier League games, propelling them to a five-point advantage at the top of the table.
Arsenal will play Sporting CP in the opening leg of a two-match Europa League last-16 contest on Thursday in Lisbon.
