Tuchel Reacts To Chelsea Sacking Potter & Nagelsmann Links. Thomas Tuchel will not give Julian Nagelsmann any advice about joining Chelsea now that the club is owned by Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital.

After one and a half years at Stamford Bridge, the 49-year-old German was fired in September. Graham Potter took his place. However, 206 days later, on Sunday, the Englishman suffered a similar fate after a string of poor results.

As a result, Nagelsmann, who replaced Tuchel at Bayern Munich last month, is now widely regarded as the favourite to take over in west London. “I saw the news [of Potter’s exit] late last night. It’s awful timing as it coincided with my appointment here,” Tuchel said.

“It took me a while to distance myself from Chelsea. I really enjoyed working there and formed friendships for life. But the club has changed a lot, which has made it easier to distance myself, so it didn’t really trigger big emotions in me.

“I could not give advice [to Nagelsmann] because the club has changed.

There have also been reports linking Luis Enrique, Mauricio Pochettino, and Ruben Amorim to the vacant Chelsea managerial position. Bruno Saltor will serve as interim manager for Tuesday’s home league game against Liverpool.
