Watch: Manchester City and Atletico Madrid Players In A Post-match Tunnel Brawl. On Wednesday night, Atletico Madrid was eliminated from the Champions League after losing 1-0 on aggregate to Manchester City. The aftermath was as tense as the match itself.
Felipe, an Atletico defender, was sent off late in the game after clawing at Phil Foden on the touchline. Stefan Savic charged across the field to physically remove Foden off it once more after he rolled back onto it.
Manchester City players, presumably, were not pleased, and a tremendous bout of pushing and shoving erupted. This included some tresses for Jack Grealish by the grumpy Savic, with whom he had a confrontation in the first leg.
Tempers continued to control the hearts and minds of both sets of players, with a video here displaying continuing taunts and efforts to get at one other, just as they had a week ago.
The appearance of the security forces and their riot gear at the end will undoubtedly have soothed both staff and players on both sides. You can watch the drama that unfolded in the tunnel after the game below:
