Xavi Responds To Messi-Barcelona Comeback Rumours. Xavi Hernandez claims that it is currently “impossible” for Barcelona to re-sign Lionel Messi. Even if the player is currently contracted to Ligue 1 winners Paris Saint-Germain, the Blaugrana manager says that it is not currently conceivable for his former comrade to return to Camp Nou.
Messi still has one season left on his contract despite leaving Barcelona last summer after 21 years there. The option to add another year to the forward exists. Although PSG would make him an entirely new offer, he won’t start thinking about his future until after this winter’s World Cup.

Messi’s contract dilemma has spurred speculation of a possible Barcelona comeback, which Joan Laporta has refused to dismiss. The president recently told ESPN that the Argentine’s chapter is far from over.

“He has a contract, and it’s impossible right now,” Xavi said in response to the Messi rumours during a press conference in the United States.
“Messi is the best footballer in the world and in history. President Laporta already said that Messi’s story with Barca is not over, but now is not the time to talk about it.”
Barcelona will face Juventus in another preseason friendly on Tuesday in Dallas. The 26-time Spanish champions will kick off their new LaLiga campaign against Rayo Vallecano at home on August 13.
