Yaya Toure Hails ‘unbelievable’ Arsenal Player & Makes PL Title Prediction. The former Manchester City midfielder has spoken out on the Premier League title fight and Thomas Partey’s improvement at Arsenal.
Yaya Toure lauded Thomas Partey’s midfield play for Arsenal, but he believes the Gunners will lose points before the season finishes. Partey has shone when called upon despite an injury-plagued tenure at the Emirates. His recent comeback following a minor injury setback has corresponded with Arsenal’s better form, with Mikel Arteta’s team winning four consecutive games.
Partey also scored Arsenal’s opening goal against Bournemouth last Saturday, sparking a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory. “Yeah he’s brilliant, it’s really nice to see,” Toure told talkSPORT of the Ghana international’s performances.
“I think now every weekend when Arsenal have to play, I have to be honest, I would go just to watch him. He’s just unbelievable.” Toure, who won three Premier League titles with Manchester City between 2010 and 2018, is still optimistic that his former team will catch Arsenal in the title fight.
“At the moment, it is really tight. Man City are just playing really well and are hoping Arsenal will drop points,” the current Tottenham academy coach said.
“I think Arsenal will drop points. It is a long way still, the pressure is there. Man United are still doing well, Liverpool a brilliant result a few days ago, and Arsenal are competing fantastically well.”
“Sometimes a team who can become champions you can always smell that luck and positivity,” Toure added.
“When I see games most of the time, you can feel champions when the team score and the camaraderie between the players and the celebrations and enjoying playing for each other.
“It was a [last-minute goal against Bournemouth]. I don’t want to say it is a decider of the league as it’s a long way to go. I hope Man City will do it because I’m a fan of Man City.”
